un-oprah like soul-searching tip

If you're like me and always searching for your soul at the bottom of a teacup (wine glass), or meditating to the sound of rain drops (police sirens), or in the deep corners of the self-help section of the bookstore (where none of the cute guys can see you), then this post is for you.

I have a little secret...

It's not there.

Or there.

Or even here.

You're more likely to find the meaning of life while bent over tying shoelaces or wiping off nose snot in the grocery store. For me, I found IT this morning when I made the stupid mistake of looking at my old Xanga page.

It was bad, y'all. It was emo, self-righteous, know-it-all type of shit. Kinda like what I do now, but with a dark purple background.

Anyway, I read through the posts and in the between eye rolls, I was happy that to see that the person who wrote those words was nothing like the girl woman I am now. I read the posts, put on my sneaker wedges, and ran out the door for an early morning work meeting and to facilitate a workshop for my peers.

There's your soul. Aging. And that's all one could ask for. If you're not moving forward, then jump off now, and find another train. But if you can see some growth and change, put yourself down for a "W."

If you really want to better yourself, find a way to age gracefully. Find a way to honor the good in being who you are at this moment.
